When a job type is created, Motivity builds a full set of default mobile workflow screens, and each screen comes with default tabs.
A tab's Type (shown in the Type column on the Tabs page) is what decides what the tab does.
This guide explains the standard screens and the tabs you'll typically see.
The default workflow screens
Screens are grouped on the job type's Mobile Workflows box:
Travel Screens
Start Travel – engineer confirms they're setting off; captures start-travel time.
Travelling – shown while en route; includes job detail and a map. Confirm Arrival – engineer confirms arrival on site.
Work In Progress Screens
No Access – used when the engineer can't get access; captures date/time and reason.
Start Work – engineer confirms they're starting the work.
On Hold – put the visit on hold. (This screen can't have new tabs added.)
On Site – the main working screen; this is where most tabs live (detailed below). After Work
Screens
Travel From Job – captures travel after leaving site
The default tabs on the On Site screen
The On Site screen is where the work is recorded. Its default tabs (and what each does):

Job Detail | Job Details | Shows the job's core details (reference, address, customer, etc.) — read only context for the engineer. |
Additional Personnel | Job Personnel | Add other engineers/personnel who worked on the visit. |
Site History | Site History | Shows previous visits/reports for the site. |
Supporting Documents | Supporting Docs | Lists documents attached to the job for the engineer to view. |
Site Equipment | Job Site Equipment List (Read-Only) | Read-only list of equipment on the site. |
Job Tasks | Job Tasks | The task checklist for the job. |
Equipment | Equipment | Lets the engineer check/record equipment and answer equipment questions. |

Parts To Fit | Parts To Fit | Parts planned/required to be fitted on the job. |
Parts Used | Parts Used | Records the parts actually used during the visit (for stock/invoicing). |

The exact tabs present depend on your configuration and which features are enabled — a job type may show more or fewer than the list above (for example a Repeating Questions tab).
Tab types you can choose yourself
When adding your own tab (+ New Tab), the Tab Type dropdown lets you pick what the tab pulls in:
Questions Tab – a normal tab you fill with your own questions (the usual choice).
Repeating Questions / Repeating Questions (At least 1 block required) – a block of questions the engineer can repeat multiple times.
Equipment, Job Tasks, Work Codes, Job Personnel, Job Details, Job Location (Map), Files,
Photos, Photos (w/ Location), Parts Used, Parts To Fit, Parts Required, Supporting Docs, Additional Forms List, Site History, Job Site Equipment List (Read-Only), Job Time Summary Review, Issue List – system tabs that show that specific built-in content.
Default – a plain tab.
Pick Questions Tab unless you specifically need one of the built-in behaviours.
