A job type defines a category of work (e.g. Install, Service, Repair). It controls how jobs of that kind behave in the office and on the mobile app, and it owns the mobile workflow, questions and PDF templates used when the job is carried out.
Steps
1. Open Company Settings (bottom left below workforce menu).
2. In the left settings menu, click Job Types.
3. Click + Add Job Type (top-right of the Job Types box). The Create Job Type window opens
4. Fill in the fields. For a basic job type you only need:
Name – the job type's name (required).
Short Code – up to 3 characters, used as a compact label (required).
A Colour is pre-filled (default #6f1e78) — change it if you want the job type to stand out on the calendar.
5. Leave the rest of the options at their defaults (see below), then click Save.
That's it — the new job type appears in the list, and Motivity automatically builds a default mobile workflow (all the standard travel/on-site/sign-off screens) for it.
The optional settings
Everything below Short Code is optional and grouped into sections. The most useful ones:

A few extra options only appear when editing an existing job type (not on the create screen), including Notification Email Content and Pre Job Question - To Display On Mobile.
